This document contains information about using your gPort. Please read this entire document before installing the gPort. Installation
Installation of the gPort is simple. First remove the plate on the back of your G3 where the modem would be installed. Next plug the thin board of the gPort into the modem slot on the motherboard. Attach the smaller square board's plate where the modem plate was removed. Finally connect the cable to each connector.
Install both parts of the software into the extensions folder. The easiest way to do this is to drag them both ontop of the system folder. Restart your machine.
Operation
The gPort operates the same way any serial port would on previous Macs. The only difference is that you should either select "gPort Serial" or "Modem Port" depending upon the driver software or application you are using. When selecting Appletalk for localtalk communication you should select "Modem Port".
